Hearty welcome everybody to Indravati Degree Mahavidyalaya, Jaipatna, Kalahandi. a milestone in spreading Higher Education in one of the most rural, backward and furthest corners of the state. The institution has stood by its aim of removing the darkness of ignorance by throwing the light of knowledge and wisdom, over the decades in spite of unfavourable conditions. Located by the side of UIHEP, the second largest Hydro power Project of Asia, the college has emerged as a leading centre for teaching learning process at the under graduate level in +3 Arts and Science streams since its inception in 1989.
Taking into consideration the challenges encountered by students in the present scenario regarding career, we have set the mission of supporting students to translate their dreams into realities. The various steps and measures undertaken by the institution will certainly go along way in enhancing quality education. We have also many plans to execute and dreams to realize in the years to come. We provide a rich learning environment with excellent faculty who are sincere, positive and student-friendly. The presence of a highly committed, talented teaching and support staff creates among the students an impetus to reach their port of dreams.
We feel proud to provide quality education by equipping our students with skill, confidence and positive approach for an all-round development. We patronize NSS, YRC, Career counseling. IQAC cell, IGNOU study centre and undertake such other promotional activities for the purpose.
I am happy to note that some of our students have been placed in high positions serving the nation in different fields and also have occupied strategic positions beyond the boundary of our country. Our students are performing brilliantly not only in academics but also in sports, cultural activities and other co-curricular programme.
Education is not simply an act of acquiring knowledge. It is a skill to lead life and attaining one’s best, through personality, morality and high ethical values. Our motto is to empower students with sound knowledge, wisdom, honesty, humanity and on top of all creating better human beings.
